LOCAL DIGS

I was saying I came across some good deals this past weekend. I'm not going to bore you with everything but I came across 2 really great pieces I wanted to share.

I'm a huge Tonite fan and i heart too so this purchase was a no brainer.

So sad to see a great brand end.

If you haven't heard yet, Tonite will no longer be in production. Fergie and Todd are such rad dudes. It really shocks me how some brands with no character or sense of branding can survive while brands who have an identity and actually try to push the industry somehow can't make it. Seriously as consumers we need to stop supporting these copycat brands. It just takes up space for good brands like Tonite.

Good news is that i heart was the American distributor so they are the only store stocking this luxury. Plus it is all 50% off.
I grab this polo for $32...
I'm heading back to get this Tonite jacket when I fully get out of bed.

The second piece is the slick navy crewneck from Engineered Garments from Stuart & Wright.

I wrote awhile back on S&W and their online e-commerce community Refinery 29. Stuart & Wright is becoming one of my favorite stores and possibly my favorite Brooklyn store. BEAUTIFUL STORE!!!
I really like their approach to retail. The 2 owners Alec Stuart and Celeste Wright, do just about everything and it shows. They have a firm grasp on the market and I feel when you have that understanding your not scared to take slight risk on your buying contrary to the rest of NYC boutique stores. Basically S&W remind me of the throwback stores, the real definition of boutique, because seasonally they may carry something that is not carried by every store in NYC.
Engineered Garments is crazy.. I'm working on a interview now. I have 2 degrees of separation from the Creative Director Daiki Suziki of Engineered Garments so stay tuned. If you have grown out of contemporary street scene Engineered Garments is a great brand to check out.
I bought this crewneck from Stuart & Wright for $65 (it was 50%)--- I got the deal but I'm not sure if the sale started yet. Keep posted with S&W they are having a major sale coming really soon. Could be today!!

FINALLY!!!

"I KNOW RIGHT"

Okay so today I saw this(below):

I thought it was about time to post this.

WELL THIS:

WOOD WOOD show was so good. Disregard my feeling about WOOD WOOD. There in my top 5 brands so I might not be the best judge. I made notes though so look for yourself.
WOOD WOOD reminds me a lot of 3.1 Phillip Lim, well there balance of high end with low end. As many brands are running into problems in their specific sections, brands like 3.1, WOOD WOOD, and even my former and new lover BAND OF OUTSIDERS(LOVES THEM!!!) have exploited the markets to form real LIFESTYLES brand. Producing all types of pieces to cater to your ever need.

I love WOOD WOOD use of indigo and gold, very tasteful. As their color palette each season will grab a few colors outside to spice up the collection.
Known for the clever cut&sew tailoring their graphic program is quite alright. Most brands usually have either one or the other but I see improvement. WOOD WOOD seems to be focusing on the complete package as far as merchandising.
Another thing about WOOD WOOD is there accessories, FLAT-OUT ON POINT!! I'm definitely a bag-man so it's imperative that brands I like have a well thought out accessory offering. There belts and hats have been getting many applauds for Spring.

CAN'T WAIT FOR SPRING 2009!!!

FAVORITES.. .

So I decided to get a online photo album...
Excited!! Well not really.
I don't really take a lot of pictures like I used too.
The main reason I'm getting a online album is because I feel that everybody should see the Wood Wood fashion show.
It was GLORIOUS...

If you didn't go, quote me, "hands down Wood Wood had the best show!!"
I will be uploading them tonight so come check tomorrow.

Plus, I was talking to Malin from Wood Wood and she didn't get any pictures taken...
THAT SUCKS!!

Code name: Recession

I'm not sure if you attended but I Heart had a glorious sale this passed weekend. Clothing was drastically reduced(60%-85%) and not just for the ladies. I Heart had Wood Wood, Perks & Mini, and Tonite to name a few on sale for men.
Ladies already know, I heart stocks some of the best brands in woman fashion featuring brands Tsumori Chisato, Phillip Lim 3.1, Karen Walker, Rachel Comey, and United Bamboo to name a few.

I came up on a great t-shirt cardigan from Wood Wood. I love Wood Wood. Shouts to Mortor, Malin, and the whole Wood Wood camp. I have some great notes on Wood Wood coming soon.

I also came up on MEDICOM FABRICK couch cushion designed by Will Sweeney. I recently picked up a Medicom account for BoundlessNY, so look forward to some goodies near and soon.

I'm really into bags right now; briefcase, bagpacks, totes, basically any type traveling storage. I have always carried some sort of bag and figure I always will. I have had my eye on this MEDICOM FABRICK duffle for sometime so I had to purchase. I'm not sure to what extent this bag will be in play but it I visually like it.

When it was all said and done, I spent about $153 at I heart for all 3 items. Saving a total of $332.
Much appreciation to Jill and the rest of I Heart's staff. Great Store!!!

Speaking of bags, I am currently smitten with a Perks & Mini canvas tote bag. At first, I couldn't really see myself carrying it but its just so perfect. The best size for grocery shopping or shopping in general. I really like PAM's space face graphic too.

This Perks & mini tote is like my new best friend. BEST TRADE SHOW BAG!!! Also a clutch inside "stash" pocket for valuables that are not best slung around.
I purchased the Perks & Mini tote bag from BoundlessNY, $65.

Scenic View...

I feel like I should I apologize for the lack of posting but it is summer. You can't hold on to summer.
It's like taking pictures at parties. I personally do not understand why people love that so much but the point is: you get so caught up in everything, everybody, and making you own story, you miss the real moments and stories. That is my relationship with summer, ENJOYING THE REAL MOMENTS!!!
At times lately, I have felt too informed about what is going on and where to go in NYC. Sounds weird but this is a great city and so much to discover but it SEEMS everything is tapped. NOT TRUE!!! I found some gems yesterday on accident so I'm back to confused but happy tourist state. You know the type; they ask you directions then go the complete opposite way on purpose just for the journey. That's me.. I enjoy exploring and getting lost without a itineray. I love having no a plan.

As for blogging, I'm here. I got some goodies on deck but enjoy your summer and if you find something fun let me know. OH YEA, Thanks for the comments and ideas!!!
I don't post too many comments but I wanted to let those know, I received them and Thank You!!!

Here is something that should be a good time.
I love cats. What a cute idea for a flyer..

KAWAII=)

I'm not sure if it is good or bad 3.1 phillip lim sends me catalogs to their showrooms. I need to find someone on his payroll, he's getting too much money from me during the gift swapping holidays.

Every time I see a girl with a really cute outfit on, 9 times out of 10 Phillip Lim had something to do with it. That is exactly how I found out about Phillip Lim. That's the best way to find out about anything, show and prove. The brand that has done ever thing right, 3.1 phillip lim decided to collaborate with German shoe god, Alex Birkenstock, for 3.1's 2008 spring collection. Birkenstock established Tatami(i always thought Tatami was Japanese), as a brand for orthopaedic specialty stores. The first styles were actually crafted on a patented footbed. Sounds like something a senior citizen would wear.
In 2008, 3.1 for Tatami has infused the sandal classic design with the perfect amount of 'unfashionability' and distinct 3.1 phillip lim characteristics to create a look that is understatedly unique and effortlessly cool. Phillip's approach to Tatami(2010 will be Tatami's 20 year anniversary) makes these sandals some of the most sought after shoes.

I have always cheerfully regarded 3.1 for the complete collection. They create collections like puzzles with all the right pieces. Each garment makes complete sense which can be a rarity in today's market. If you haven't seen any of his collections please do so as soon as possible. I can honestly say hands down that he is my favorite designer not saying I wear his collections but my appreciation is tremendous. One of my weak areas in Fashion admittedly was women fashion. Not the t-shirt stuff but real clothing. So many components are needed to make a great women piece. Phillip has a uncanny eye for that and is the reason I can say I have somewhat an understand of what a wonderfully drapped garment looks like(I could go on for days)..

These, Jane P. Lim(style name) was purchased at i heart..$200.
