Today.....
Well first the weekend was great!
Got some really good shopping in(***great sales @ i heart, Nom De Guerre, and Stuart & Wright***) and had a blast on my birthday.....
I had planned to end this birthday extravaganza with a tag-a-long family trip to Hong Kong but unfortunately the trip was postpon a bit due to illness(sister). I'm really tired so I wasn't mad but my stomach had this weird feeling like "IF YOU BUILD IT THEY WILL COME" haha nah but it was strange like I was forgetting something important.
Long story, short, I got reservations for
The Eddy Davis New Orleans Jazz Band tonight at
The Carlyle.

Yep.. That's Woody Allen playing the clarinet....
I'm so excited.
The only thing...
When I made the reservation the receptionist made a point to say, "Jackets are required" ...
I was like "what?!?"
I had to take a second to break this dress code down.
Does that mean the "S-word"
S-U-I-T..
I just can't do them. I can, its just that a suit is something you just can't do in a day. I have a really nice glenn plaid blazers jacket but a "S-word".... I don't know.
Getting a suits like going to the DMV or something.
Plus its one thing to wear a blazer jacket to a house party or something but The Carlyle umm I'm not trying to look "HOBO-chic" if you know what I mean..
Luckily today I met 2 of the most interesting fashion locals.
Both have a long history in fashion and one still works with the likes of Berdoff, Saks 5th Ave, and Macys.

Talk about SWAGGER
Eli, a rather stubby jewish gentleman with a slight hunch sporting a tan fur jacket, promised to take me to a quality consignment store tomorrow afternoon. "One of the jewels of old NYC" he says.
Hopefully I can get a picture of Eli. I felt out of the moment to ask for a shot.
Anyway, Eli worked textiles for sometime before becoming a clinical nurse. Strange transition but as he said, "If you have it(style), you have it" Eli Has it......I don't take fashion advice from many but he was too money. He was like the kid with the box of jordans in hand looking to match 8 outfits. He showed me some combinations that were sick. I mean I have my own style and look of how I like to match but sometime you meet someone who may have worked in a different field like textiles or drapping who look at things from a different angle. Eli would speak of fabrics and how certain materials look together. To me that was a light bulb flash. I don't know how many times i have put an outfit together thinking it would be a simple match but on, something just doesn't look right.
We talked for 2 hours while checking out my locals digs.
I hope I see him tomorrow.
Old guys are so cool.
They have the best stories and a brass truth to them like they have seen it all.
