Code name: Recession

Starting tomorrow, Fort Greene's trendy shop spot Stuart & Wright(Alec Stuart and Celeste Wright, both formerly of Steven Alan) will commence their biannual sample sale. Look for prices marked 30%-75% percent off including but not limited to brands: Ulla Johnson, A.P.C., Gryson, Samantha Pleet, Rogues Gallery, Rogan, Steven Alan, Vanessa Bruno, Gilded Age, YMC, Engineered Garments, United Bamboo, Loomstate, Noah, Steven Alan, and Borne(*_*) to name a few. Over 37 brands in all.
Back to Borne quickly, are you familiar with their collection? Borne founder and lead designer Brett Lally has brought this Massachusetts farm chic boarding school style to city lights and became I think, one of the best up and coming brands. I would merchandise Borne, right now next to major women lines like 3.1 Phlilip Lim, Tsumori Chisato, even trendsters like Alexander Wang & Vienne Westwood.
I have been watching Borne for sometime now. Mark my words, very chic, kinda everyday wear but has yet a maturity to their garments for such a new and cute brand. They follow what I call my basic design or shopping question; Is this item something I can see myself wearing for the next 3 years? For women, Borne is definitely a brand to put under that list. Sorry for the tangent, I like Borne.

I also wanted to touch on online websites. Over the past 2 years, I have been constantly analyzing the market trying to come up with my own best strategies for infiltration. I'm currently working on a post about the online marketplace. If you haven't noticed websites are becoming like t-shirt companies, everybody has one. Lucky for us consumers, a few online retailers are doing the e-commerce game at a whole another echelon. Stuart & Wright(Refinery29 Shops) are members of one the 5 major e-commerce sites I will be highlighting on. I wanted to post it asap but I also want to order this item from one of the sites. The item is not on sale yet so I'm going to wait until I confirm purchase to forgo interception of my gift to myself.
It's like the DJ who covers their records when you try to take a peek.

Back to the lecture at hand, definitely check out S&W.
