LOCAL NEWS

Okay!!! One of my local digs got national coverage recently. The thrift store shown above on this AOL ad is my 23rd Street Salvation Army in Manhattan, across the street from SVA. One of the daily stores I rummage on my thrift route. Shouts to Patty and Big Sam for always looking out and congrats on the stellar press.

Stock Vintage

Stock Vintage
Neighborhood: Manhattan/Sty-Town East Village
143 East 13th Street
New York, NY 10003
Weekdays 1-6
Weekends 1-7

This is a gem.....flat out. I live a couple blocks from here and constantly find myself going inside. Stock Vintage is definetily "parent-friendly" with nice wood floors(great interior). The owner/buyer Melissa brings a certain comfort with her clothing selections: T-shirts from 30's and 40's, quality leather jackets, utilitarian inspired boots & wear, vintage bags and its goes on and on.... Stock Vintage re-ups on garments twice a month which includes out-of-state and country. The owner, Melissa has been picking for companies such as Abercombie & Fitch and RRL to name a few(WOW!!). Trust me, this is a thrift store you must enjoy in person.
I would give them 4/5............
I enjoy the "search & find" feeling that unorganized stores tend to have and stores like Stock Vintage are completely picked for you. Choosing what item/s or how many are the tough question shopping at Stock Vintage. *Stock Vintage is not the traditionally cheap thrift store with prices up to $500, be ready to dig into your pockets for quality.
Well worth it....

Monk Vintage Store #1

Monk Vintage Thrift
Neighborhood: Manhattan/Greenwich Village
175 MacDougal St Frnt
New York, NY 10011

I happen to be skatin' to a book store in the West Village and saw this Monk Thrift store. There is quite a few thrift store in the area(Manhattan/Greenwich) so i just picked the most visibly appealing store, Monk Thrift store. Nothing really , just your basic thrift store but with reasonable prices. I didn't really look extensively through the clothes section but i found a nice Pendleton flannel for $10 also a decent book section.
I would give this store a 3/5.
3- Worth checking out but don't break your back.
