Finally a whole day with some nice weather.
SKATE DAY
Sike!!!...I had to work.
I have notice since my start in Willy B that there is some strong skate vibes. Not like crazy crowds of skaters but the youngsters. I have always had a thing for helping out kids. I was always hanging around an older crowd all my life so I natural take a liking to kids. Reminds me of my youth a bit. I was the youngin' in the crew constantly getting schooled on the way of life by the "OG's" in sports, fashion, girls, and life.
There is some really good talent over the bridge. The only problem is that most of the kids do not have the proper equipment and little means to correct this. I see kids everyday with decks that pros wouldn't even pop tricks on.
To combat this issue, I try to give my old decks or parts to the local kids so they can enjoy the world of skateboarding even when I can't. I just don't want good kids getting into trouble because there is nothing for them to do.
Today a few of the local kids had some deck issues and it was a very nice day. I felt like it was my personal duty to help this kids enjoy their youth sort of say. I ripped home and grabs some old but good(Supreme Louie V. and Stereo Supa..J.D.S. loves the kids!!) decks so that the kids could rip.
The gentlemen in the car thought the kid was posing. He must have missed Gabe tre flip the "rock gap" and basically pulled out tricks that I thought were only possible by pros and me on Tony Hawk..Late varial heels? Thunder flips??
All in all, it was a blasting see the kids enjoy themselves.(They were all hopped up on Vitamin Water Energy drinks..Super Shouts to the homie Seattle Steve at Vitamin Water and Young John at Certified Skateboards!!)
