The Olympics are final over...
They were done gracefully for once. The opening ceremony and the ending ceremony were not as cheesy as usual.
As for the sports, I almost miss watching random events on every channel. I'm more of a basketball and boxing guy but those are a given for almost any guy. Surprising.. I really enjoyed the gymnastics, swimming, and a few others. Those are the events that are interesting though. The athlete-coach dynamic is the thing I focus on. CRAZY!!
Honestly, I represent the 87% percent of people who just don't care to follow. Not that I don't support are athletes but watching the Olympics sometimes feels like watching BET. I just can't take such high levels of patriotism umm, I mean nationalism. I think every country should excel in one event or another. We focus solely on events that we dominate and to do that is not bad due to so many events(Trampoline and speed walking are awesome) but I want to see other countries excel. During all this China came out and basically took over the Olympics. All we(USA) were doing was complaining about scoring and talking about total medal count. China had like 3000 medals.. Go USA!!!
In parallel universe called New York City...
Opening Ceremony conducted a pretty stellar event to kick off the Olympic spirit. They had tons of games including a ping pong tourney(don't ask), scrabble, food, and a pretty rocking party which I did not attend.

They were open for 72 hours straight. My boys Stephen(SB-Wear) and Drew(pictured,SB-Wear) worked the duration. Those are some of the coolest dudes I have met since I been in NYC. Major shouts to the SB twins!!
Speaking of the Olympics...

Lori "LO LO" Jones
100 meter hurdles
Despite cruising through the trials and being favored to win the 100 meter hurdles, "Lo Lo" placed 7th in the finals. As she was pulling away from the pack, she clipped the 9th hurdle and stumbled, which broke her stride to drop her back to a disappointing finish.
I AIN'T MAD AT YOU!!!
