Field Study

So this summer, there will be a lot of field work. I have some great opportunities coming so I will be trying to share as much information as possible along this summer tour. The first of these adventures is modeling. Yes, I put back on my modeling boots to do the Fall(October) J Crew catalog.

Last week, which was one of the craziest week of my life but when my agency, JV8, informed me about doing the catalog I almost had the big one as Red foxx would say. I couldn't believe it, very random. I mean I have danced with modeling a few times with companies like Kid Robot and King Stampede to name a few but this one was a little different with respects. Always a really good time but the J Crew shoot was located in Southampton, I was hyped. In my 6 years in living in New York City I have yet to hit the prestigious Hamptons. The Hamptons was nice to say the least. They put me a really slick room which the colors just put you in this relax vacation state (lots of soft blues, yellows, and whites). I'm still on the steak diet so I was eating filet mignon with Glenlivet on the rocks, all night (Glenlivet ain't no joke, shouts to Sticky for that put-on). I had a great sleep which was useful because are call time was at 7:30AM at a location just about 3 miles from the Southampton Inn.

Our location was incredible. The photo shoot location was actually at the Spades estate(Kate Spade, Jack Spade,& Andy Spade) which made sense given that you could feel the wealth was in the air.
The design options for this estate are endless especially with 8 bedrooms, 3 fireplaces, with 2 extremely large rooms, a library, and tons of outdoor space. Think mansion but with a wood cabin look. They were refurbishing it as we were doing the shoot but even then it was still one of the beautifulest house I had been in to date. I'm curious what the house looks like fully renovated.
The professionalism was at a all time high at the J Crew shoot. The slight detail was worth another roll. Besides having a really good time and meeting/networking with people, I learned a great deal of information about lookbooks/catalogs. Luckily, I brought Rhodia so I was taking notes throughout the days. I bet I look crazed because I was off in the construction area writing away fully suited. I would have been a fool no to, they took everything into consideration. At times I would just stare as they would go one tangents about fashion or photography. They were dropping gems throughout the day. As for my work side, it was a long hot day. The sun was beating and their was no AC. The shoot was in total a 12 hour and quite exhausting. All but one of my looks I was able to sit down so I was standing for most of the day but it was well worth it. The shots came out really nice. The photographer was really good. Actually the whole crew was awesome. I'm looking forward to seeing the pictures in October.

I already know this is going to be the one my mom actually likes. Suited with a low fade is my mom's image of me.
I LOVE YOU MOM!!!
