Yea Me Too

Yea, I was one of the reportedly two million that downloaded the leak of Lil' Wayne aka Weezy F Baby newest project Tha Carter III. I was trying to wait to purchase a copy at my local CD spot but I just couldn't wait. I had been hearing about Tha Carter III for what felt like eternity (which was really just the past 3 days). I respect Weezy. This summer umm actually the past 365 days, Weezy has contributed more to the Hip Hop game then most. Which can be good and bad. Consistently, Mixtape after mixtape, hit after hit, all of his free stuff has been pretty good; the Drought 1-4, Wayne's World 1-7, and Gangsta Grillz 1-3 to name a few. That's why I still have to purchase it when it comes out officially.
I double checked my copy, all the tracks match I'm official.
I listened to Tha Carter III this morning around 2AM while skating. At first listen, I didn't like it. I did instantly like the track "Dr. Carter" which featured Weezy on David Axelrod's Holy Thursday (Songs of Innocence, I'm a super huge David Axelrod fan and trust your favorite producer is too.)
Since my intitial review of Tha Carter III, I have since listen to the album 3 times. I like it. The best way to listen to it is to expect nothing. It's not the Carter I or II. That is what I wanted again. (Tha Carter I is one of my top 5 albums)
Weezy's life has been such a whirlwind, reaching to new heights in the underground and commercial market alike. Last year, I went to the Lil' Wayne concert at Beacon Theatre to a pack house of white america. Not saying anything wrong with that crowd but if you were to listen to his lyrics you wouldn't neccesarily think that would be his crowd.
That is exactly what you have to take into consideration when listening to Tha Carter III. Its a really good commercial release. There is only 2 tracks I skipped over. Personally my favorite tracks are La La(produced by David Banner) and Let the Beat Build(produced by Kanye West) and of course Dr. Carter. I would give it a 3.5/5. (I'm critical)
Definitely worth picking up this coming Tuesday for any Duane Carter fans..
