The very first post seems so epic. There is so much information I felt needed to said before I start laying out what I have been working on for about a year now. I didn't want to misrepresent a semi-culture which I respect so much. Over the past 4 years, I have been traveling around the United States. No matter where I'm at one of the few things I must find is the thrift angles and some nice skate spots too. I have found that most places including big cities never really have a directory of thrift stores. That is when I started to form John Doe Society. I'll explain John doe later..... I can still remember when I first bought my first "cool" thrift store shirt. The feeling was so momumental, well for me it was. Being an avid clothing consumer, at times it seems like there are tons of stores but all of them are selling the same stuff. Thrifting was like a psuedo-out. It gave me a chance to really understand clothing better and not get all caught up in labels. I will always enjoy buying new clothes but thrifting is just it for me. Not to forget one time in Vegas, when i was 16, I found a $50 bill in a tweed-smokers jacket in Las Vegas with a receipt from the original Can-Can room. For me, one of the most interesting attributes to thrifting is the history of the item and who possible owned that shirt before you. Designers, sports figures, or even your favorite recording artist from the past. Anything possible depending on how much you dig. Thats why I had to do this. I just wanted to give back something that brings me tons of fun and not to mention eye-compliments. Plus what's better than a nice summer day, t-shirt, a pair of jeans, and a cold one!!
